Set against the backdrop of the race to get the first man into space the film highlights the background but essential role played by the Afro American women who undertook the necessary and critical orbital computations. Semi documentary in Hollywood’s inimitable style with a soupcon of poetic licence but the story speaks for itself. A fascinating aspect of racial segregation, the Cold War and the race to space this film gets great reviews.
