Did you know that Alford is a designated FAIRTRADE village? And that FAIRTRADE FORTNIGHT will soon be upon us? The Alford Fairtrade Group has planned some exciting events which we hope you will support!
On Thursday 2nd March, at 3pm, there will be a children’s storytelling event at the library with Fairtrade teas, coffees and homebakes available.
On Thursday 9th March, at 7.30pm, at Film Club in Tullynessle Hall, we will have a stall selling Traidcraft goods and will be serving Fairtrade teas, coffees and homebakes before the film.
On Saturday 11th March, from 10am to 3.30pm, there will be a Fairtrade Pop up shop in the village at 55-57 Main Street (next to the Sew Room) We will be selling Fairtrade clothes, jewellery, home accessories, food and gifts all traded at prices that give a fair deal to the producers in Developing Countries. Refreshments will also be available!
