Alford Mens Shed – Annual Meeting

We held our Annual Open Meeting last night where approximately 40 people were in attendance.  To those who attended, I wish to extend, on behalf of the Trustees, our thanks.  For those who were unable to attend, I wish to confirm that our Community Asset Transfer Stage 2 application was approved by the Marr Committee on 24 January 2017 and we now move to Stage 3.  Graeme McDonald of 338 Design is working on plans to meet Building Warrant standards.  Calum Bell of Anderson Bain has accepted the role as legal adviser and our legal representative.
Chairman’s and Treasurer’s Reports were delivered and accepted.  An update on the building and the developments on the site were presented and questions answered.  The trustees were confirmed for the next year and our financial year approved to run from 1 April to 31 March as requested by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator.
Thank you to those who either purchased the bird boxes or donated to our funds.  Last night we earned £50.00.  As of today, we have achieved in excess of £30,000.00.  We continue to work towards accrueing the funds necessary to deliver our aims.
The demolishers are currently on site and we are unlikely to gain access to the site before their completion, sometime in early Summer.
I will attempt to keep you all informed and will look forward to the day when we can get on site and begin the works which are necessary to deliver all aspects of this exciting project.
John Reid, Secretary
