TULLYNESSLE HALL 30/31 JULY..We are really pleased to tell everyone that The Dee and Don Ceilidh Collective is now up and running. The Collective was the winner of the Crerar Hotels Trust community prize and the aim is to bring communities together through the heady mix of music and dance – celebrating the rich North East traditions and generally having a fun and lively time! To that end a fabulous programme has been created of six musicial weekends of workshops, ceilidhs and sessions. At the heart of this collective are some of the biggest and best loved names is Scottish music including legendary fiddler Paul Anderson, wonderful Old Blind Dog Jonny Hardie, Singer/songwriter Jenny Sturgeon, Bothy Ballard Champion Shona Donaldson, multi-instrumentalist Fraser Fifield and friend Alasdair Johnson and his New Distillery Ceilidh Band. We are delighted and priviliged to have their support. But the “Collective” is so much bigger than that! It encompasses anyone who loves music and wants to be a part of a wider music community in the region. The workshops present an opportunity to spend sometime learning from one of the region’s best – in a supported and relaxed atmosphere. Participants will all come together in the evening for a big Ceilidh bash and survivors can attend the informal session the following day-. Full details are on the poster below but further details, and information on how to book, can be found at http://www.deedonceilidhcollective.org.uk. We are trying to create something here, so please come along and support it.
