Road Closures

Please note that the A944 road from Alford to Mossat will be closed from Bridge of Alford to the Balfour junction from Monday 7th August for 2 weeks. You do not want to see the recommended diversion from Aberdeenshire Council!! I am sure locals will find better alternatives depending on where you are going.
There are also several other minor road works taking place in and around Alford – to plan your journey see the Aberdeenshire website at http://online.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/apps/roadclosures/#a

If Aberdeenshire Council worked a normal 8 hour day they may get it completed a damn sight quicker!! Their organisational skills are abysmal. They’re about as organised as a tossed salad

    Road Closure Notification

Aberdeenshire Council need to get their act together and let the wider community know about road closures affecting their main routes. Travelling from Tomintoul to Aberdeen the first indication that the access to Alford is closed is a small notice at Glenkindie. The marked detour via Insch takes about 1 hour. Result – missed appointment. Surely a notice could be put at the end of the Ballater/Braemar turning or the Tarland/Ballater turning.

Who says they don’t work an 8 hour day? Road closures like this are the best way of getting a good job done properly. Drive over the border into Perthshire and contrast and compare the quality of road maintenance.
