PART TIME HEALTHCARE ASSISTANT or PRACTICE NURSE – 15 to 20 hours per week
We are a friendly, highly motivated, Medical Practice looking for an enthusiastic, reliable Healthcare Assistant or Practice Nurse with excellent organisational and communication skills to join our Nursing team.
The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth running of the practice, working in conjunction with the GPs, Practice Nursing Team and other members of the primary healthcare team.
The hours will be 15-20 per week (shifts to be arranged), however, flexibility will be required to cover annual leave and sickness absence.
Salary is dependant on experience.
Health Care Assistant
Duties essential to the Health Care Assistant role are the ability to perform venepuncture and carry out tasks such as blood pressure checks and routine health measurements.
Duties essential to the Practice Nurse role are the ability to perform venepuncture, wound care management and routine adult immunisations as well as conduct ECGs and perform ear syringing. Experience of Near Patient Testing for patients taking Warfarin, the ability to undertake cervical cytology and Chronic Disease Management would be preferable but is not essential.
Applicants should be registered with a recognised professional body and should adhere to the standards of care as set out by the NMC.
Communication, pro-activity and team working are all skills required to successfully fulfil this role. You should be able to prioritise your own workload and have experience and confidence in dealing with face to face consultations.

Knowledge of General Practice and Vision clinical system is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.
