Shooting Stars Britain 1928 (Silent) 1h 20 mins
This was Asquith’s first film and gets excellent reviews. All comment on the skill with which Asquith induces belief in the characters and slowly twists the emotions. Essentially a film within a film ( it’s set in a film studio) the theme is the age old one of the eternal triangle. It begins lightly with comedy but subtly and slowly gets darker and ends in tragedy. The film has been digitally remastered by the BFI.
