We posted here a couple of years ago when the bus service from Alford to Aberdeen was upgraded to an hourly service. At that time we said we had to “use it or lose it”. It would appear that our words are coming back to haunt those who rely on the bus service to Aberdeen with a proposed reduction (from 1st May) to a bus every 3 hours i.e. 6.30; 9.50; 12.50; 15.50 and 18.12 Monday to Friday and on Saturday at 9.50; 12.50 and 15.50. Return journeys from Aberdeen are at 8.22; 11.22; 14.22; 16.35 and 17.35. Stagecoach would like to hear your comments about the proposals and have posted out the proposals as shown below.
Our network in Aberdeenshire and Moray is changing and we’d like your feedback.
Ahead of registering our new timetables for 1st May 2017 we’d like to hear from you! Our proposed timetables to commence 1st May are available here. Services will be revised in Aberdeen, Buchan, Stonehaven, Inverurie, Kemnay and Moray from this date.
Proposed timetables for bus services are all available online now at stagecoachbus.com. We’d love if you could review the proposals and share your thoughts, whether in support of the revisions, highlighting any concerns or sharing any other ideas you have on the services we operate.
Proposals that would affect Alford include –
- Service X18 will be replaced by service 218
- Alford – Kemnay – Aberdeen service X20 will see some minor timing revisions. Like with service 37, there are two proposals for this service – option A operates on the current route and Option B operates via Craibstone Park & Ride. Customers are encouraged to provide feedback on their preferred timetable.
There are mistakes in the link e.g it says our present X18 will be replaced by the 217, 218 and 220. It will not as only the 217 would apply to Alford. Note that any comments have to be back with Stagecoach by 10th March. I suggest you get in touch with the Donside Community Council and your local Aberdeenshire Councillor to register your protests.
